Grant and I got together for Episode Three to share some insights on briefing and the value of a brief. When you are trying to create a strong brand, often the brief gets left behind because of the demand for quick turn-arounds . . . but what have you sacrificed? Chances are you aren't aligned on the execution, you'll spend extra time explaining and reexplaining and the execution probably won't be that out of the box or strategic. Now ask yourself again, are briefs important?
Here are a couple headlines you should include in every brief:
- What is it you need?
- How is it for?
- How will it be used?
- Will it follow the brand or be brave and out of the box?
- What is the demographic of the end user?
- What is the timeline?
