Bite-sized Branding Episode 77 will be very much similar to Episode 76.
If you remember, in Episode 76, we talked about how valuable expert content is and that anyone who is an expert in their field can make compelling content.
Today, we are joined by an expert copywriter, copy enthusiast, and guru.
Scott Bywater runs what many regards as the highest-level private marketing group in Australia called the “Elite Marketers”. He is a direct-response copywriter who turns words into money.
He is a sought-after corporate speaker, most recently at James Schramko’s Superfast Business Event and for Dale Beaumont and Ben Simkin’s masterminds.
Scott Bywater used email marketing to grow his business and that of my clients, “I stumbled across many business owners who didn’t think their list was a decent quality, or that email marketing would work for their industry.”
Some of the topics that we will discuss in this episode:
- The process which Scott follows when making copy
- How research takes up a huge chunk of the entire process
- How he works using the client’s words instead of his words
- Writing in copywriting is the easiest part of the job (editing is even harder!)
- The headline of the copy is the hook.
Understanding the audience: Before creating effective copy, you need to know who your audience is and what they want. Researching your target audience helps you to understand their needs, interests, and pain points, which you can then use to create copy that resonates with them.
Relatively, making targeted content is just as important as research. No matter how good of a wordsmith you are but your audience can't relate to your copy; that’s almost similar to talking to a wall and waiting for it to respond,
When content is targeted, it is more likely to be relevant to the audience, which increases the likelihood that they will engage with and consume the content. This leads to increased satisfaction and loyalty among customers or followers.
Targeted content has resulted in higher engagement rates and increased conversions. This is because it is more relevant and personalised to the audience, leading to increased interest, trust, and loyalty.
Whether or not you’re a copy enthusiast, watch this episode and find useful tips to make great copies, even for personal use!
