Bite-sized Branding Episode 66 - A Fresh New Look At Outsourcing

Content Marketing |  3 min read

Outsourcing is now a common practice in most businesses. It is an excellent way to get most of the tasks done without spending so much when getting work on shore. Bernard and Grant will discuss this with Clayton Navarro of VA World Outsourcing as they unbundle what is behind the fresh new look at outsourcing.

How do people utilise their time better in their businesses?

The released core update is considered a good update, as per George, as this focuses more on de-It doesn't have to be a VA or Virtual Assistant always but simply using a system. Instead of getting someone to work 3 hours a week to manage your schedule, you can have a system that can run your schedule. It will always fall on how much or how little work you need. If you need to get yourself a VA, it would be best to future-proof the person you bring on board.

You often get a virtual assistant for a specific task and have them do something else, not what you hired them for. This is why you search for someone with multiple skills who can grow into the role you are trying to fill. Getting them on board is essential, which means all the aspects you may need to work with. You need to make sure they know how to use your systems.

What prompted you to do a rebrand and bring your business to the next level?

What prompted Clayton to rebrand is the mismatch of clients they are getting from their brand. The logo, for starters, was from the clippers. A friend suggested making it simple. The brand that they were was definitely not synonymous with what their clientele was. The rebranding was really called for to establish the character of the company. It also established consistency and congruency in the business.

The partnership between Clayton and Bernard's team was a great combination. Though Clayton was hesitant, he was willing to try everything. The advantage is that he is headstrong that they need to have a rebrand. The website itself is not representing what the company is.

What do you see as the trends in the industry, and how do you think people should be approaching business differently?

The trend today is that you cannot find cheap services overseas. The hourly rates are much higher than the charges from two years ago. You can even get services onshore for a much lesser amount. Another trend today is that more people are comfortable working with people but not in the same place. There is no more need for a big office since most are overseas.

Even big brands are considering this though they do not give them the capability to make decisions. They are not also providing enough resources because the service is not high quality. Virtual assistants are not simply people doing admin tasks. Some are doing codes, while others attend to sales and marketing. The prices of these services may not be as low as the charges were back in the day, but you can get skilled people by paying a fair price.

Outsourcing may not be helping the unemployed individuals onshore, but it can help companies tremendously as offshore workers can provide what your business needs. With today's technology, acquiring services whether your worker is halfway across the world is no longer a problem. You simply have to lay out your conditions, requirements and expectations clearly to ensure you get the service you need.
